Christmas in the Big Woods
Published in Hardcover by HarperCollins (October, 1995)
Average review score:

This is my girls favorite book!I am so surprised to see the poor reviews of this book. My girls pull this wonderful book out all year long, and my youngest (5) has most of it memorized. It is a totally endearing book, and pulls you right into the story, so you feel like you are there in the Big Woods. I get such a good feeling from reading it to them. The children in the book received red mittens for Christmas in their stockings, and last year, that is all my girls wanted in their stockings! So I knitted them each a pair and they want to wear them, even though we live out in Nevada now! This is a lovely book and I would recommend it to anyone who likes the Little House series.
Excellent Christmas story for a bedtime bookThis book is well-designed for young children. Not too many words per page; nice colorful pictures on each page; easy to follow story that keeps a little one's attention.

Color Atlas of Veterinary Histology
Published in Hardcover by Lea & Febiger (July, 1990)
Average review score:

What a book!!!An amazing book with great colorful pictures. It begins from how to prepare histologic sections to the description of the most important tissues, organs and systems of eight species (dog, cat, horse, cow, sheep, goat, pig, and chicken). Before the pictures, the book gives you a very useful and brief chapter introduction. It also has a detailed glossary containing nearly 750 words. A necesary book for a veterinary student. El mejor libro de histologia veterinaria que he visto!
an atlas with great pictures and concise textThis atlas provides wonderful full color pictures of cells and tissues from several animal groups. The pictures are logically grouped by tissue type with examples from different species being shown together. Many of the sections have brief, but useful introductions. All the pictures are well labeled and have a brief discription of important characteristics of the specific cells or tissue types presented.
It likely to be useful to individuals working in veterinary science, animal science or animal research.

Commentary on Daniel
Published in Paperback by Zondervan (May, 1990)
Average review score:

Best premillenial presentation of DanielI have persued the study of the book of Daniel for 20 years, of all the commentaries I have read this one is the best. The author is a careful exegete and shows considerable evenhandedness in discussing some of the tough issues in the book. The author holds to a 5'th century date and sees the fouth kingdom as Rome. Wood deals with the greek words for the musical insturments and also answers modern critics,(though not as well as Josh McDowell) The only volume that even comes close to this one from a premillineal perspective is Walvoord's book. Chapter nine is well done and clear using Andersons dating. For a fuller presentation of the premellinal position Culver's work is great. This is one of the best overall! The other authors that deserve a place on your shelf are; Walvoord,Robert Dick Wilson,D.J.Wiseman,Wooley,Whitcomb. And of course Wood.
A Commentary on DanielThis is an excellent, theologically conservative, commentary on the Book of Daniel. He clearly and persuasively explains the relationship between historical events and the prophetic passages. He does a good job explaining the likely significance of the prophecies not yet fulfilled.

The Comte De St. Germain: The Secret of Kings
Published in Paperback by Book Tree (February, 2000)
Average review score:

Detailed account of St. Germains life in EuropeThis book is valuable for those who are searching for the practical life and evidence of Comte de St. Germain. An immortal who is still very active in the world today.
"The Man Who Does Not Die..."Cooper-Oakley's biography on Comte de St. Germain is the first biographical sketch written about this enigmatic character. Called by Frederick the Great "The man who does not die" Saint Germain was said to possess the Elixir of Life, and to be virtually immortal. Germain was the friend, confident, and spy of European rulers for a generation. Two hundred years after his disappearance from the scene of politics, his reputation as an emissary from the Invisible Brotherhood intrigues us even more. While there is a definite Theosophical spin to her work, Cooper-Oakley's "Comte de St. German" remains to this day seminal reading for those interested in this "Unknown Superior" of Western Esotericism - Freemasonry and Rosicrucianism in particular - almost a century after it was written. A very good book and well worth reading by any one interested in the mysterious occult forces behind history. Jean Overton-Fuller's historical biography on Comte de Saint Germain is a fine follow-up to this one.

Contemporary Relationships between Wood & Finish: A Step-By-Step Guidebook and Design Planner for the Layperson and Professional
Published in Paperback by Good Gumbo Books (04 December, 2000)
Average review score:

Zen and the Art of ...I'm a non-professional -- call me a tinkerer -- who likes to paint: furniture, walls, inside, outside, you name it. I also like to do a good job and sometimes that's tough for an amateur. But then I found this book. It is a veritable dictionary of painting advice and trouble-shooting tips, from how to prepare old wood for painting to how to protect your fingertips as you move into the hypnotic world of a big sanding job; from discussion of stains, dyes, glazes and penetrating oils to how to paint a new fence and preserve the wood. But the real bonus for me is the writing: in a "How-To" book, Fallarino has smoothly inserted anecdotes, aphorisms, and tales of woe and triumph from his own early days as a painter that keep you reading. The result is a "Zen" feeling - a sense of the organic relationship of a worker to the work - familiar to anyone who's ever slipped into the rhythm of rolling long rows of color onto pristine walls or watched a surprising grain pattern emerge under just the right finish. Any down-side to this book? Yes. You could get so involved reading it you let your brushes dry. Of course, if you do, Fallarino tells you how to fix that, too.
Well written. Accessible information and case studies.I became aware of this book because I worked on the design and production of it. However, as a homeowner who has puzzled over differences between paint and stain, wondered whether I was doing a proper job and how long the finish should last, I was delighted to discover a book that held answers to all my questions, and then some. I would recommend this book to any homeowner, whether you plan to do-it-yourself or hire someone to finish your wood. The information is accessible to the layperson. The case studies illustrate well the problems you may encounter and how to solve them. Five stars!

Conversations with Dog
Published in Paperback by Zen N Ink Pub (01 June, 2000)
Average review score:

Animal WisdomThis is a very provacative read. I found the wisdom to be insightful, inspiring, clever, thought provoking and witty. In the beginning of the book I found that Dog's owner had some resistance to their new relationship of conversing with eachother which had an impact on me as the reader. I wasn't as open to the information in the beginning but when Dog's owner relaxed into the dialogue with his Dog, I did too. I found the book rich with much depth and character. I think the topics the author covers are at the core of the human experience. Subjects that are known to all of us and often not addressed in our everyday relationships. Many opinions DOG gives seem simplistic and at the same time challenging, or not the normal way most humans think and interact in relationship. After pondering the dialogue and the points brought up such as power, love and death i felt inspired, hopeful and lighter. A greater sense of freedom and understanding of myself and others. I highly recommend this book and applaud John Wood for his courage to be open and share his wisdom. I will be sending it to friends and reading it again.
lessons of love and life and hard to put awayThis was an easy to read book. Written in laymans terms and in a light manner but covering relationships and their complexities. Filled with insightful examples of different ways we communicate and interact with each other. Just a wonderfully smart dog, you will not be able to put it away.

Corporate Lunacy : How to Win (or at Least Survive) the Corporate Game
Published in Library Binding by Reality Press (September, 2000)
Average review score:

An Embellishment of True ObservationsThis book is a gem. It is full of sarcasm and real-life-annoyance. You can tell that the author was writing this book as a healing process for all of the years he was "stuck" fighting the corporate monster. The illustrations were wonderful and really brought the book into a visual light. I think that anyone who has ever had a job, whether it's office, factory, restaurant, etc., will be able to relate to this book. As much as we'd like to deny it, this book is the real thing. It might be a little embellished for entertainment value, but the observations are true and they are pure Corporate Lunacy.
minhaThis is a "must read" for anyone in corporate America and, for sure, those considering entering the corporate world. Honest and a real eye opener -- some things we all knew, but never believed! RA McMillan gives you the facts in a style whick makes you chuckle! The illustrations are great! Hope there is a sequel - will be sure to read!

The Count's Vendetta
Published in Hardcover by Magna Large Print Books (July, 1995)
Average review score:

Good BookThis book was great! I loved the character of Jemma, Vittorio was great. He was gentle, harsh and unrelenting but he wouldn't hurt Jemma;I like heros like that. This book was wonderfull. I read it a few weeks ago and I'am reading it again.
The Count's Vendetta! This is one of the best and most passionate romance books I have read so far. I like it because of the facts in the story. It tells us what happens when people gamble. The consequences of such actions. This book is based on Jemma whose brother Brian and sister-in-law Luisa die in a car accident. Luisa's cousin, an Italian Count, Vittorio, claims that he know owns Jemma and that he wants her to work for him in Italy. She has to agree. BUT Vittorio is VERY attracted to Jemma, and now that he owns her....... The thing is that you really can't tell that the hero is in love with the heroine because of his sudden mood changes and his cruelty towards her. Sure you can tell that he's marked her as his next pillow friend and that he get's very jealous when she mention's other men, but you can't tell that he loves her.
